The Lotus - Open Mingle Post

Who: OPEN (Top Levels for Wei Wuxian and York)
What: An open mingle post for anyone that might enjoy the nightclub scene! Wei Wuxian and York will have toplevels for you to tag into, but feel free to start your own and party the night away with friends!
When: Open to any nighttime! Club is open from 7PM-4AM every day
Where: The Lotus Nightclub
Rating/Warnings: It's a nightclub so warnings for drunken and disorderly!

The Lotus is a hot nightclub that likes to have live performances all night for club attendees to enjoy. Singers, dancers, and more grace the stage at any given time. Performance times can be found on their social media pages. Music plays from open at 7PM until doors close at 4AM. A wide variety of music from DJs and performers will have you dancing the night away.

Not there for the entertainment but just to get your drink on? The Lotus has several unique mixed drinks that are sure to knock your socks off. Just ask the bartender about the nights Lotus Specials and be prepared. Some of them come in pitcher sizes intended to be shared with you and your companions.

Need a little break from the music and the wall to wall people? There is a convenient VIP lounge where you can sneak away and enjoy a little quiet time. Our performers like to hang out in the lounge to entertain their fans, so come and get an autograph or buy them a drink and become fast friends!

So come on in and have some fun! You might encounter a few familiar faces.

Wei Wuxian laughs as he accepts his drink from the bartender, taking a nice long sip from it before setting it down. The Lotus is generally a pretty peaceful place as far as fights go. Most of the patrons like to have a good time and not stir up trouble. But it does happen and usually it's hard to miss given the size of the club.

"That's why they pay you the big money." He leans on the bar, enjoying this moment of sitting down. Even if he is full of energy, sometimes getting off his feet does need to happen.

"They have you on door duty again today?" He would go crazy if he had to stand outside and check IDs but that's mostly because he would end up talking to everyone in line and no one would end up making it into the club.

York hasn't seen any violence at the club so far, but sometimes when people are drunk they get out of control, so he figures it'll happen at some point. Not that he's hoping for it, or anything.

He chuckles at the remark about how he's getting paid. "I like what I'm doing. Tt's a refreshing change from driving forklifts. And yes, I'm on the door, though I'll probably be on the floor after my break, since there's not a line anymore." York's an extrovert too, but he knows how to get people moving when they need to. Banter can be quick if you know how.

Wei Wuxian looks around the club. It's definitely a full house tonight. "Good to see you are settling in alright. I told you this place is fun to work at." Usually employees are long term stayers because the owner is a decent guy and the work isn't hard.

He takes another sip of his drink and turns to lean his back against the bar so he can watch the goings on in the club. He waves to a few of the regulars who walk by.

"You were definitely right," he says. He'd gone to clubs plenty of times but he'd never considered working at one. He'd always been a manual laborer; that had always felt like his niche and he hadn't strayed from it.

He notices Xian waving often enough that it piques his curiosity.

"You know lots of people."

"Mm..familiar faces. I can't say I really know any of them. Most are regulars that come to the club at least once a week. Some are fans that enjoy getting to spend time with a performer. I talk to a lot of people but, but I can't always remember what they tell me. Especially after a few drinks."

He turns back around as food gets delivered. "The longer you work here, the more you will meet too and eventually you won't even have to check their IDs."

He chuckles. "Ah, yeah, I hear you. There're always regulars at these kinds of places. Especially when it's a really good atmosphere, like there is here."

Yeah, he's really glad he was given this chance. The club is a great place to work, and just a great place in general.

He looks around the bar with a fond expression on his face. He has made a lot of good memories while in this place and he hopes it can continue for a long time.

"The best atmosphere with the best people." He turns that charming smile towards York. He lifts his glass in a toast. "To The Lotus and all the good times it gives to everyone."

York returns the gesture, smiling. "To the Lotus."

He clinks the glass and then takes a nice long drink from the glass, nearly finishing it. He has a very high alcohol tolerance and so it takes a lot to get him drunk. But usually by the end of the night he has a pretty decent buzz going on. He gets free drinks but the key is not letting the guests know that and getting the patrons to actually buy him drinks, thus making the club money. He's pretty good at his job.

"Mm..the burlesque show starts soon. If you are working the floor you'll have quite the eye full. Don't get too distracted~."

He chuckles.

"I won't. I know how to keep it professional and not get too into it."

Maybe sometime he'd come in on a night off and take in the show as a patron, though. He could whoop and cheer as well as the next guy then.

He finishes his food then, taking the last bite of one of the spring rolls, and sets down his chopsticks, humming a pleased little sound. Yup, he'd been pretty lucky to have Xian vouch for him for this job.

He finishes the drink he had watches York finish his meal. "You seem like you're in a pretty good mood. Anyone who can smile like that while at work, is exactly where they belong."

He was also glad he helped convince the man to join him at the club. It felt good to have someone around that knew what happened outside the comforts of the club.

He grins, then takes a moment to wash down the remnants of his food with the rest of his drink. He doesn't want to be grinning with shrimp in his teeth.

"You're right," he says. "This is right where I should be."

He gives him a pat on the shoulder as he hops off the bar stool.

"I need to do a lap around. You're welcome to join me, otherwise I'll probably catch you a little later."

"Sounds good."

He lingers for a bit longer after Xian leaves, chatting with the bartender, but soon enough he's making the rounds on the floor after clocking back in, watching for any troublemakers. Doesn't seem like anyone's causing any problems tonight.

After a while, he notices Xian chatting with someone, and the conversation breaks up as York is approaching.

"Tonight is a dream," he says.

Xian couldn't agree more as the patrons have been rather generous tonight and he is definitely enjoying a decent buzz at this point. And that usually means he becomes even more flirty and the drinks become even more frequent.

He has a charmingly, practically seductive look on his face as York walks up. "Mm..We've got a good crowd. Very willing to share their drinks." He wraps his arm around the man's neck and points to the bar. He knows when it's time to drink something besides alcohol.

"And time for some water." And being attached to someone means he doesn't have to entertain for a few minutes since it will look like he already is.

"Mm," York replies with a smile, wrapping his arm around Xian to help him along. He loves when people gets handsy after they drink. "You like it with some lemon?" He runs his other hand down Xian's arm. "Or a twist of lime?"

That gives him a little shiver as that hand tickles his arm. York better be careful because Wei Wuxian is rather shameless and not afraid to pour on all his charms, even on the other employees. Especially when he's already this far into the night.

"Can't I have a little from each column? I like both and I'm quite greedy."

He chuckles as they make their way to the bar. "That sounds tasty, actually. I'll have one like that too."

He orders the drinks when they arrive, and he gingerly lets go of Xian as he settles onto a bar stool.

He leans at the bar, winking at the bartenders as they work. They know his tactics and both the women and the men merely smile knowingly at him as they prep the drinks for the people around them. As he settles atop that bar stool, he looks over at York, with that same flirty smile.

"I only know the best drinks." Even the non-alcoholic ones. Water with any kind of fruit in it is far better then just plain water. And he likes everything that goes in his mouth to have a little spark of flavor.

"You haven't had to break up any fights. You must be very intimidating." He looks him up and down as if trying to figure out how true that might be.

"We all know that's why," he says, winking at the bartender, who's walking by on her way to another customer.

"You know, honestly, I think it's the atmosphere here. No one wants to ruin it."

Their waters arrive and Wei Wuxian picks his up and takes a nice long drink from it. It's not going to do a lot to bring him down from this buzz but it will help with the aftermath.

"I can believe that. This place has that special magic." It's why he loves it. Always the best people to be around. He hooks his arm through York's and leans against him. "Make sure you do a good job protecting the atmosphere."

"I will. I promise you," he says, smiling in a seductive way.

He's not as buzzed as Xian but he figures taking a drink of his water is a good plan. He does so, tightening his grip on Xian's arm afterwards, although Xian is the one who grabbed first.

"You always this affectionate?"

"Mm..All the time. And I grow more affectionate the more I drink." He's well aware of the fact he can be a clingy drunk. But it's also what people like about him. He's not afraid to flirt and be friendly with any of the people who show up at the club.

But he's also someone who likes contact even when sober. He never had much physical contact as a child so he has grown up into someone who enjoys as much contact as possible.

"Also, more so with people I like."

He grins.

"I suppose I should consider this your stamp of approval on me, then."

"mm..Definitely have my approval." He drinks more of the water, enjoying the little fruity twist to the drink. His senses aren't all completely numbed from all the alcohol. He can still taste a little so it means he can handle a few more drinks in his future.

"You should consider yourself very lucky. Many in here would like to be the one attached to my arm right now."
