Who: Elliott and OPEN to ALL Different!

It's a good spot.

Two diagonal picnic tables are parked a within roasting fork distance of the fire pit. It starts as a small, flickering fire, but once everyone's gathered, Elliott takes the opportunity to kick the night off and turn up the heat with the aid of a few magical fireballs.

There's hotdogs and an overlaying grill to cook up Yotsuyu's mix of meat and veggie kebabs. A cooler filled with soda and water bottles sits further away to avoid premature melting. Cookies and marshmallows or s'mores feature as dessert- or dinner, if that's anyone's preference.

For entertainment, Roselia makes a live, musical debut with Lisa as its sole performer. Meanwhile, Elliott does his best to encourage socialization and facilitate any necessary introductions. There's even a volleyball net and ball, and at least one attempt is made to form teams and get a game going.

But for the quieter sorts, dark, ocean waves lap at the shore outside the firelight. The weather is perfectly clear, and the location affords a rare opportunity to enjoy the stars. There might even be a cat playing in the sand somewhere nearby.

Some accouterments (like cutlery or extra chairs) might have been accidentally overlooked.

...He tried okay.

"What's his name... Martin. That same guy who showed up when he had that first memory explosion."

Or whatever those events were called. Anthony was a touch foggy on the terminology mostly as he had been too stricken from the experience itself to pay much attention.

"He showed back up last month asking about people stirring up trouble for the Bureau and being generally creepy. He really didn't speak to you at all?"

"Now..I never met him after that first time. I got some strange postcard recently but that was about it." He had thought that was weird junk mail or a chain letter or something and had just thrown it away without much thought. But now he wonders if maybe it had some secret meet up message he should have been able to decode.

"What did he say when you met him? Anything important or just..creepy 'don't mess with the bureau' crap?"

Anthony's ears practically perked up in the water. He hadn't before now heard anyone mention the postcard. He had always assumed they didn't get one or else they had thought it was some sort of prank just as he had.

"I got that postcard. Didn't know what to make of it... it looked like some kind of creepy chain letter."

Maybe it wasn't and he should have paid more attention to it. Ah, but there had been so much family drama going on! How could anyone successfully split their focus in so many directions at once??

"He basically accused me of being involved in something," Anthony's voice grew deep and mocking in an approximation of the Bureau man's voice, "I thought I told you to say out of trouble."

Anthony snorted a laugh like that was some how amusing and not actually one of the most worrying conversations he'd had and his voice returned to its normal cadence.

"I think he was trying to get me to squeal on the others, which is so not happening... I'm not a snitch. And then he went on about aliens! Saying there aren't aliens behind every bush."

This drew out a measured frown, as he lowered his tone to a much more thoughtful one.

"It seemed to imply there were aliens behind some bushes... What do you make of that?"

"Aliens? Like..little green men? I knew the Bureau gave off Men in Black vibes...what if our memories are like some sort of weird mental probe?" He shudders in thought as he looks up at the stars again. Is the Truth out There?

"I think if he is worried about people getting together and trying to figure things out, then the Bureau and him are definitely up to no good."

Wei Wuxian doesn't like it..he still hasn't had another dream and he would like to keep it that way, especially if they are being caused by the Bureau in some way.

"No, like illegal immigrants. Of course little green men... or little purple men," He shrugged in the water causing a small ripple of a wave, "They could be purple, we have no idea."

Anthony didn't like the idea either especially that added bit about alien mind-probes. That was only Sci-Fi stuff! It wasn't real! Then he found himself being reminded that past life memories weren't supposed to be real either... Damn. He really didn't want that to be true!

"He's a creep. 'I've never lied to you,' he says... meanwhile his group is out there spying on us all the time. How else would they even have heard that anyone was planning outside meetings?"

"Sounds like all he does his lie..so saying he isn't lying is also a lie. I guess there isn't a whole lot we can do about it..They are going to keep track of us like rats in a maze regardless. The only difference is our maze doesn't necessarily have an exit."

Because what happens when someone fully remembers their past? The end game is probably a dangerous one to think about. Especially for the people who have powers. Fully realizing what they can do could make them a threat to the bureau.

"Either he is lying or just not telling us anything!"

Both of which he found frustrating enough to splash about. Anthony didn't know what the end game might have been, whether the Bureau was planning to use people with powers or eliminate them but the game was tiresome. He blew a few bubbles just under the surface of the water, tasting the saltiness of the sea which seemed to fit his mood.

"Right now they're just a nuisance really."

"Agreed. But hey..we are at a party. So let's forget about those jerks and just focus on the fun."

Wei Wuxian sent a splash in Anthony's direction. He'd rather not think any more about what lies the Bureau might be telling them and why they think they have to lie.

A splash which pretty effectively drenched the other swimmer.

"Bastard! That's a sneak attack that is!"

And it warranted some payback as Anthony drew back both of his arms to send a two-armed splash towards Wei.

Wei Wuxian laughs as he reaches up with both arms to try and block at least some of the splash heading his way. "Sneak attacks are the most effective!" He sends another one back at Anthony even as he starts moving backwards in the water to get some distance before another attack can come.

"That sounds like something other me might have said!"

The chilly wave smashed into his face but it no longer mattered how wet he became the only thing that was important was making sure Wei got even more drowned!! As Wei retreated Anthony transformed into a human wave machine, sending volley after volley of water after the fleeing man.

After taking a few of those waves fully, he decides the only way to avoid those waves is to go under. So he dunks his head under the water. He's a pretty avid swimmer despite growing up in the city so he swims quickly to try and circle around to behind the wave of water with a goal of getting behind Anthony.

The splashing continued until Anthony noticed his missing target between rounds of sea foam.

"Wha... he's gone?"

He turned this way and that in the water, looking for Wei like one might have searched the waters for Jaws.

"Like a bloody fish that one!"

He is a silent predator as he swims around the other man and makes it behind him. It's hard to see in the dark water but he tries to plan it when Anthony is not looking in this direction in his frantic search for him. When he sees a decent amount of victory on his side he successfully pops up behind Anthony and immediately send a new wave in his direction.

"Enjoy that sneak attack!"

Such a well planned attack drew a small yelp as the cold, cold wave caught him in the back of the head. It was as chilly as all the rest of the water he had been splattered with but a few drops had traveled their way into his ear and wasn't that a shock!!

"Attacking from behind... that's just low really."

So why did some part of him feel like he ought to be proud?

"What we really need is water balloons at 500 paces. Have a real 'shoot out'."

He laughs and nods his agreement, "Water balloons would definitely make for an interesting fight. Maybe next party we should put in the suggestion. We can have a real battle!"

Wei Wuxian looks back over towards the shore, where the party has gained a few more people. "I think everyone is having fun so no reason why there can't be more in the future."

"We used to do that all the time. Water balloon wars during summer."

Over there on the beach some one sparked up a secondary fire, presumably to cook up a few of those hot dogs. Most of them were just kids trying to deal with things that were well outside what children needed to deal with... creepy organizations and blah. Anthony pouted at the shore but though it best to head back to it away.

"First one to the shore wins?"

Then he sent a splash directly at Wei to give himself a head-start as he took off through the surf. Without it... he was fairly certain he would lose.

"Cheater!" He yelps as water sprays towards him. But the challenge is accepted as he he takes off after the man.

Wei Wuxian is definitely an adept swimmer so he knows he can catch up, he's just not sure if he can catch up fast enough.

The distraction had been very necessary! Wei was a much faster swimmer than he was. Anthony would have blamed that on growing up in a largely rural English countryside where there were only a few pools and the rare seaside trip to splash around in. A few strokes and Wei was at his feet, a few more and they were side by side... if only there were some way to cheat again!

A wave which was rather larger than the rest swept up behind the racers and slurped both of them up. They were tumbled through the surf, Wei being momentarily sucked down to the shoreline floor and away from his inevitable victory, while Anthony was safely deposited on the sand. He laughed, surprised at his own good fortune and looked back just in time to see Wei being spat out onto the sand just behind him.

"HA! What do you know, cheating worked! I won!"

Wei Wuxian had definitely been caught off guard by that wave and unfortunately has to admit defeat. He rolls onto his back and lays there spent. Any energy he had left got wiped out by that wave.

"You win this round but when it becomes water balloon war time...you are going down!"

He really doesn't care and he is grinning despite it all.
