May Support Group Thread
Who: OPEN (Including to all the new characters who app throughout the month)
What: Bureau Run, Non-Mandatory Support Group
When: There are meetings at various times during the week, whatever works for your character between 8 am and 10 pm
Where: There are meetings at various locations around NYC, whatever works for your character
Rating/Warnings: We ask that players put appropriate warning labels in the subject lines of their threads as they become necessary
There’s a generic spread of food on a table off to one side of the room: donuts, muffins, bagels, and cookies; coffee, lemonade, water, and because one of the Different asked for it, hot chocolate. Maybe you’re hungry enough to try it—it’s free after all.
Or maybe you can’t stomach anything, given the event you’re attending.
The space is a local rec center. The beige-painted cinder block walls and the fluorescent lighting are a terrible combination. Maybe they are reminiscent of the public school you attended in your youth?
Why are you here? Curiosity? Maybe the Bureau official will say something that will help you make sense of things? The meeting was interesting—who knew there were so many people like you, receiving memories of a past life? The group was led by someone from The Bureau—the Department of Medical Services. Some people are staying in their chairs and chatting—they must know each other from previous meetings. Some of them are gravitating towards the food.
How do you feel about tonight? Has it helped you come to terms with the dream of memories you’re having? Maybe it’s time to talk to others, get an understanding of their experience.

Or if they hadn't been going around erasing memories or dealing out threats, he thought but didn't bother saying out loud.
"Yeah... there's no trust here. They don't trust us and we don't know what to make of them."

Anthony spoke noncommittally until the team leader up there by the white board had her attention drawn away by a question from some one in the crowd.
"I think everyone is lucky enough to meet him. At least everyone I've spoke to has been. I'm not sure the man even sleeps... he probably just spends his days pacing around in his office until he gets the call that a 'Different' has appeared. He's a very uptight kind of person."
That was his assessment anyway. The man drank too much coffee and was almost always scowling, he needed a vacation not a room full of weirdos to look after.
"What did you make of him?"

"I have had every preconceived notion of the world shattered this last few days. I wonder if I'm even qualified to give any opinion anymore."

His voice dropped low and sympathetic.
"I wish I could say it got better with time, but it doesn't. It only gets worse."

He looked at the other people in the room.
He'd been told by a few people this wasn't enjoyable and it would only get worse.
But not everyone.
"How many... think the same?" Because clearly Bail wasn't interested in being complacent - cautious, yes, but he didn't like the smell of this Bureau on bit.

Anthony too shot a look around the room.. There were some people as grim faced as he and his new companion were but there were a few laughing and cutting up. Maybe they had been having the memories longer and had found a better way to deal with them or maybe they just coped with humor.
"I've never gone round and taken a poll on it. Most of the people I've spoken to don't care for the way it's disturbed their lives, there's only been... well, one I can think of, who seems really keen on the idea."
The team leader at the front of the class suddenly clapped her hands startling Anthony enough to jump in his chair. He thought it a silly reaction until he saw the pens and notepads she was handing out.
"Uh oh, red alert... I think it's another getting to know you game. That's me out. I think I've had about all the meeting I can stand."
His chair was vacated just before a pen and notepad were passed back by the group to Bail.
"Hey, it was nice talking to you. I wasn't much help I know but it was nice to find some one to commensurate with."
