Welcome to a new universe, everyone.

Please use this as a Catch All Log Event post for all your winter adventuring needs. You may use the link above to remember all the various things you can do in this new space. But below, we've listed a summary

1. Visit the Ice Palace

• The Ice Palace has gardens with ice and snow sculptures
• There is also the ice maze to have fun in.
• The Ballroom
• Fine dining

2. The outdoor ice rink

Spend a day skating the whole way around, there are skate rentals and food all the way around the rink.

3. Visit the Ski Lodge

• For skiing and snowshoeing
• Rent a room for a night or week, or whatever
• There's the dining room for a good warm meal
• The saunas
• The hotsprings

4. Explore the Mountains and Forests

• Go for a walk
• Take note of the unique plants (get high?)
• Take a picture of the unique animals
• Run into a wild Energy Burst

5. Visit the town

• Go shopping!
• Go for a sleigh ride
• Remember, there's a big trolley pulled by a team of reindeer that is essentially a bar on wheels
• Visit the reindeer stables
• Run into/capture some mischievous Energy Bursts

6. Generally marvel at the magic in this place

"Give it a go," she encourages him with a gentle smile. "If it feels like it's gonna be too much I can grab some needles as a backup."

He nods and goes up to the wall of the maze. He just has to treat it like one of those talismans...He concentrates some of his spiritual power into his hand and then flattens it against the ice. It's surprisingly not that cold against his skin and when he draws his hand away there is a symbol etched into the ice like it was burned there.

He barely even notices the usage. "As long as we don't have to mark about a thousand walls I think I'll be fine."

Ellie gives a little squeak of joyous surprise as he pulls his hand away. "That's amazing, Xian!" Immediately, she runs up to the wall to trace the little symbol with her fingertip. It's still just a little warm from the magic.

"How long've you been able to do stuff like this?"

"A few months. I started getting abilities during the summer and I've just been working on making them better. It's still not much compared to what I've seen in my memories."

But some of those powers he would rather stay just as memories. He doubts he will be that lucky though.

[seawalled]

"Practice makes perfect." She turned her smile on him in full before starting down the maze. "Let's start on the right, yeah? Off on the right foot and all that."

Ellie glanced up at the trees above and the fluffy clouds drifting across the sky. It looked like snow, but then again, she was beginning to realize that every day in this place looked like snow.

"So you're from one of the more extraordinary places, then. So's my cousin. He can do all sorts of things, but ... I think it scares him a little more than he lets on. Did it scare you?"

He marked the patch as they turned down the chosen turn. "It scares me a lot." And he's not afraid to admit it. He had never really believed anything of this kind of thing was possible and now he was living it.

"The things I've seen in my memories are terrifying. The things that person is capable of and what he did are slowly bleeding into my life and I'm not really sure what to do about it."

"I can only imagine," she said softly, making sure she sounded as earnest and supportive as she felt. Ellie had always had a gift for being an ear, and she felt that if she had to stay in New York among the Different, maybe it was because that ear might be needed.

"These ... bleedy things. Are they things you're afraid could hurt people? If they are, and you need someone you can talk to if it gets bad ... I - well, I used to be police in my memories. I might be able to help."

He laughs softly and kicks a little patch of ice in the path as he walks. "If you were a cop then chances are your first instinct is going to be to arrest me if I start to fall into the same patterns that he did."

He holds out his hand, palm upwards and stares at it. "He killed a lot of people. Most of them seemed to be bad people and this was ancient China so killing seemed to be pretty normal in these memories but still...wouldn't really go over well in today's society."

"So, a vigilante." She nodded a little, partly focusing on the path, but mostly just seeing where things led them: in the conversation as well as the maze.

"Seems to me that if you know that's what you're capable of, but you also know that's not what you want to be now, you might be able to consciously avoid making those kind of choices. Use these amazing powers of yours to help people in ways that're a bit more, erm. Acceptable. Yeah?"

"Not sure I have the stomach for being some sort of superhero. Most of my life I've only cared about having fun and living my best life. This is way more responsibility then I want."

He shoves his hands into his coat pockets and looks ahead of them towards the next fork in the road.

"This whole...burning designs into ice thing is like a parlor trick. His real powers are far scarier."
