Welcome to a new universe, everyone.

Please use this as a Catch All Log Event post for all your winter adventuring needs. You may use the link above to remember all the various things you can do in this new space. But below, we've listed a summary

1. Visit the Ice Palace

• The Ice Palace has gardens with ice and snow sculptures
• There is also the ice maze to have fun in.
• The Ballroom
• Fine dining

2. The outdoor ice rink

Spend a day skating the whole way around, there are skate rentals and food all the way around the rink.

3. Visit the Ski Lodge

• For skiing and snowshoeing
• Rent a room for a night or week, or whatever
• There's the dining room for a good warm meal
• The saunas
• The hotsprings

4. Explore the Mountains and Forests

• Go for a walk
• Take note of the unique plants (get high?)
• Take a picture of the unique animals
• Run into a wild Energy Burst

5. Visit the town

• Go shopping!
• Go for a sleigh ride
• Remember, there's a big trolley pulled by a team of reindeer that is essentially a bar on wheels
• Visit the reindeer stables
• Run into/capture some mischievous Energy Bursts

6. Generally marvel at the magic in this place

Wei Wuxian watches the other skaters and how much confidence they have. And every time someone falls he flinches but they always get right back up. He is impressed by their tenacity. The idol is pretty good with moves and has never been anything but confident...except when it comes to this.

He looks over as Ben skates over and offers a smile, even if it is a bit hesitant. "Are you really sure you can keep that promise? Because I'm really sure the minute I step out there I'm going to be on my ass."

"I'm really sure I can at least keep you on your feet long enough to learn how to fall without hurting yourself and how to stand up again - but I'm pretty danged confident on keeping you up to start with." Which was not entirely, but pretty. "You're a little taller than most of my students, though."

He sits down on the bench and slowly pulls on the skates. "Probably heavier then your students too if I decide to you use you as my pillow when I lose my balance."

He doesn't want to learn how to fall and not get hurt. He wants to just avoid falling. But once the skates are on he will stands up unsteadily and waddle his way towards him.

"Well, the good news is I don't have to throw you and catch you and if I turn into your pillow it won't be from a throw or height."

There's a bit of a tease in there and he skates backward to hold his hands out to the other man.

"The best thing you can do is - " He pauses. "do you dance?"

"Please no throwing." He pouts, then holds out his hands towards him. "Hey..hey...stop getting further away!" He steps onto the ice and he wobbles immediately.

He snorts at the question, "Yeah..I can dance pretty well. But can't say I've ever done it on ice."

He stops moving pretty quickly and even more forward a bit. Palms up, and intending to have the other man grip onto his forearms or wrists for balance. He's not big but he is very stable.

"Great!" he grins. "No need to dance on ice but it means you know where your center of gravity is, right?"

"I definitely do." He tries to focus on that as he takes a hold of the man's arms. He does slowly stand up straighter with a grin.

"Alright, teach. I'm ready to not fall down."

"Then you are miles ahead of most of the adults who wander in. Just remember ice will amplify any direction you lean." Forward, back, not so much sideways - whatever.

He's really pleased with the straightening up and gets a bit of a grin in return, and starts moving backward, just pulling the other man along, slowly at first. He could probably teach other things from go, but why? When there was just pure fun available?

He sucks in some air and holds his breath as he starts to get pulled along. He can feel his heart beating a little faster in his chest as the nervousness of this hits him.

But he also has never been afraid of learning something new. "Ice probably also amplifies the pain when you fall on it. So you teach lots of newbies how to skate?"

"I mostly teach little kids and the odd grown up Different to skate," he says, keeping things pretty slow and easy for the time being. Those and the odd Olympic hopeful but there were only one or two of those. "I'm always happy when I get to feel competent and share what I love."

"Then I guess I'm lucky you saw me. I feel like I got myself a pretty good teacher."

He does start to feel a little more confident now that he hasn't fallen over yet.

"Do you love all winter activities, or just skating?"

He considers that, while adding just a little bit more speed to their skating, but being careful to be balancing them both. Could give more instruction but conversation is better.

He laughs, pretty quickly after thinking about it. "Let's put it this way: I enjoy cold weather and attempting most sports - but don't ask me to teach you to ski or snowboard. We might both break a leg."

"Noted. Definitely will avoid the slopes." He definitely doesn't want to attempt that sport either. If he gets seriously hurt then he can't work. A dancer who can't dance...won't make money.

"Alright teach, I think I'm confident enough to stand up on my own." Just don't go too far.

He lets go and moves a tiny bit away, "You want me behind you, in front of you, or beside you?" Which way are you going to fall, if you fall?

Wei Wuxian snorts softly. His mind went to a terrible place as it so easily does. It takes all the effort he has to avoid making a comment about that question. Since he is trying to teach him it is better if he is on his best behavior.

"Well depends on the circumstances but I guess in this instant I'd rather have you in front."

[neverjedi]

He blinks at the snort, realizes what he said and bursts out laughing.

Then pivots around to get in front of Wei Wuxian, but facing him and starts skating backward. "Your wish is my command and I am so sorry I set you up for that."

Still laughing.

"You should be sorry. Do you know how difficult it was to resist such an easy set up?" He grins as he moves along with him. "I may be your student but I'm not as innocent as your kids." He is far more shameless.

"We're going to leave you with the impression all my students are the little kids, and not talk about how bad that would have been with the couple of teenagers I coach..."

He's still laughing, at himself.

"Gold star for not taking the opportunity?"

He laughs and there is a little bit of a wobble but he manages to straighten himself. "Well at least I managed a gold star. That's quite the achievement. I didn't get many of those when I was a teenager."

He was a fairly well behaved kid but a trouble maker as a teen. He definitely would have been one of those in the class that wouldn't have held back any comments if such an easy chance appeared.

"Oh really?" he skates backward, still, eyebrows up and curious. "Total smart-ass or real trouble?"

No judgement, just curiosity.

"Both?" He smirks, clearly not ashamed of how he behaved. "I didn't really like authority much so every chance I got to mess with the teachers...I did so. But I also was smart and did well so it made them hesitate about disciplining me."

Which mean Wei Wuxian got away with a lot and was smart enough to get away with things people couldn't even pin on him.

He laughs, just a little. "I've always been a people pleaser and more so when the person was an authority figure, but I know the type and even I managed to get into some trouble over performing got me out of. You would probably have been a kid I considered 'cool' and was intimidated as hell by."

[chenqing_player]

"I still am cool but not at all intimidating." Wei Wuxian had always made friends easily and if there were people who were intimidated by him, he never noticed. He always tried to friend everyone he has ever met.

"Well now we get to be friends and you don't have to worry about being intimidated."

[neverjedi]

He laughs. "I am absolutely going to be your friend, and I am way harder to intimidate after a couple of olympics than I was when I was a kid - so you can maybe be a little intimidating and not have me melt."

Consider yourself adopted - in return, maybe, but adopted.

He is glad to be adopted to go along with his gold star and ice skating lessons. Talking at least helps him stay distracted from the fact that he is on ice. "Good to know I don't have to turn the intimidation off completely."

But now he is curious about something else, "Did you to go the Olympics for skating? Is that why you teach it now?"
