Welcome to a new universe, everyone.

Please use this as a Catch All Log Event post for all your winter adventuring needs. You may use the link above to remember all the various things you can do in this new space. But below, we've listed a summary

1. Visit the Ice Palace

• The Ice Palace has gardens with ice and snow sculptures
• There is also the ice maze to have fun in.
• The Ballroom
• Fine dining

2. The outdoor ice rink

Spend a day skating the whole way around, there are skate rentals and food all the way around the rink.

3. Visit the Ski Lodge

• For skiing and snowshoeing
• Rent a room for a night or week, or whatever
• There's the dining room for a good warm meal
• The saunas
• The hotsprings

4. Explore the Mountains and Forests

• Go for a walk
• Take note of the unique plants (get high?)
• Take a picture of the unique animals
• Run into a wild Energy Burst

5. Visit the town

• Go shopping!
• Go for a sleigh ride
• Remember, there's a big trolley pulled by a team of reindeer that is essentially a bar on wheels
• Visit the reindeer stables
• Run into/capture some mischievous Energy Bursts

6. Generally marvel at the magic in this place

Ben is both a guy who used to be a kid in California -- and a guy who actually spent most of his life being most at home in skating rinks, and who has travelled a lot.

So he isn't completely turned off by the cold, but he definitely puts on a sweater and coat, and a hat and gloves, before going out in the snow. The walk through the forest is perfect, makes him laugh and play and enjoy the way his breath fogs in the air.

It's all a little bit more magical for Bail's company.

He's still flushed red from the cold with his fingers numb by the time they return to the ski lodge and their room there. "I may not thaw out before morning," he half-complains, before admitting: "Worth it, though."

Bail pulled Ben closer and took hold of the man's red fingers, though Bail's hands were just as cold. He brought Ben's fingers to his mouth to blow on them.

"Dinner? A dip in the hot springs? Something... else?" his eyes, full of suggestion, flicked towards the bed.

"Dip in the hot springs, room service, hot shower, followed by something else?" He might be a little bit hedonistic. Which he does not remember being in his former (or just other) life, but somehow that just makes him more... luxury indulging when the opportunity arises. subtle rebellion? Delayed appreciation? All of the above?

"Then grab your swim trunks."

Bail had no intention of using one of the outdoor pools. Ben was an icicle, so staying inside was the better option.

But the indoor pool was no less enjoyable.

Relaxing back against the side of the pool, Bail reached for Ben's hand and pulled him in close.

"Sometimes, this other life stuff..." Bail smiled. "Doesn't seem so bad."

He is more than prepared to stay inside and warm as well as enjoy a wet Bail and the freedom that came from being in water.

he goes with the pull and laughs a little as he settles it.

"This is a pretty nice perk," he admits. "And I did meet you because of it.''

Wet Ben was just as enjoyable for Bail.

He tipped his chin in thought. "Hmm... We could have meet anyway, without all this memory stuff. We did meet first at one of those support group meetings... but we didn't get to know each other there. I ran into you at that restaurant. I could have just... noticed you there, or restaurants around there, a few times before one of us worked up the courage to introduce ourselves."

"Yeah, I suppose that's true. But our first date wouldn't have been eating hotdogs on a set of steps." That's a really fond memory for now and he is absolutely laughing at himself about it.

Bail turned his face and dipped his chin into Ben's hair.

"That was a perfect first date." He hummed a soft, quick laugh thinking about it, and the rest of that weekend. "I saw you the day before at the beach. You'd originally asked to go out that day but I was helping my brother that day. And when I saw you at the beach, playing volleyball, I'd wished I'd blown off my brother."

He flashes a grin. "But would we have made it to the beach if you hadn't been busy with your brother?" Temporary derail when he was reminded. "How is your family?"

"Maybe not. But then I'd just have to take you to the beach another day," Bail said. It was strange to think that summer had sped by so fast.

"My family is doing well. Why... Do you want to meet them?"

"You can still take me to the beach, you know, though I think I'd rather wait for warmer weather." That's a bit teasing, and he goes a bit still at the rest of the question. "All of them?!" No. No he does not.

"Maybe the next universe that opens up to us will be a tropical paradise?" Bail mused. He would not be opposed to that.

But when Ben objected with that question...

"Not all at once," Bail quickly added. Ben maybe be a peacock, but Bail had long since realized that he liked being a peacock from a distance.

Bail is a smart man. Ben loves showing off, even to a crowd, but that crowd isn't usually too personally invested in him and even if they are he doesn't have to know about it.

"Then yes?" Tentatively. "Maybe a couple at a time?"

"We can start with my younger brother," Bail said. "He's not loud like my older brothers- who are both lawyers." They weren't bad people, just expressive. His younger brother was much quieter.

"Wes only has two kids, and he's a physician, no exuberant opinions at the dinner table."

It was easier to reach and pull himself up in water, and that made it easier to give him a quick kiss. "All right. Even better. One at a time and the quiet one, though... don't doctors have opinions or just not at the dinner table?"

Bail enjoyed the kiss, and holding Ben close.

"Yes, they do. But not like lawyers and politicians do. Though, we have a rule for family dinners with everyone that no one is allowed to talk politics while eating."

"I can understand that rule. Even when people mostly agree those conversations can get loud." Even if everyone agreed and people almost never all agreed. "What kind of doctor is he? I've forgotten."

"An anesthesiologist, uh, specifically in the area of neuroanesthesia," Bail said. "He works primarily with neurosurgeons and orthopedic spine surgeons. And he also emergency medicine. He knows how to handle high stress, chaotic situations well. Which is perfect for when all my brothers and their families are together." A situation Bail was hoping to avoid dropping Ben into for a very long time.

Ben blinks, very slowly. "Your entire family is brilliant." He's a little intimidated and not at all surprised, but-

Holy. Heck.

How was he supposed to keep up with that? He was just a figure skater, and one who had stepped down to mostly being a kids' coach.
