Arrival 9/25
When he enters, of course he makes a beeline for where Xian lies reclining on the bed. He's so glad to see Xian's okay, but he doesn't express his relief as such. He just says, "Got the party started without me, I see."

Standing up, he doesn't hesitate to wrap his arms around the other man and pull him into a hug, "What the hell you jerk...you've had me worried. I thought one of those robots ate you or something." Can robots eat? He doesn't care. Knowing York is safe is like a huge weight lifted.

"I'm okay," he says. "I'm okay."
After a little while of that he pulls back just a bit to look at Xian.
"I'm glad you've been here safe. There's a lot of shit going on out there."

"Ready to drink and forget all about it? Or tell me all about it while you drink to forget it."
no subject
"What do we have on tap here?" he adds.

"I brought everything I had. Who needs clothes when you can just fill your suitcase with alcohol." There were clothes in his suitcase but most were arranged so that it was protecting the bottles.

"How many kinds of whiskey did you think you need?" he chuckles, then picks out a bottle of bourbon and uncaps it. "Got any mixers?"
no subject
"If there is something I know, it is how to party even in the most limited of circumstances."

"You don't need my number anymore now that we are roommates." He looks around at their new housing arrangement as he reaches down and retrieves the drink he had nearly dropped upon York's arrival.

York grabs a glass out of the suitcase and mixes his drink—heavy on the whiskey, light on the coke.
"Are there others in these quarters, have you noticed?" he adds, curiously.

He takes a sip of his drink as he considers who he has encountered, "There are a couple others roaming around. I've only spoken to that Lan Wangji guy though." There is a little bit of unease in his expression as he mentions the name. Even if he isn't the one who killed him, having someone else who apparently is from the same memories is still a little uncomfortable.

"It seems our past lives are connected. With that death memory I had..he was in it."
And that made him really uncomfortable. "I thought that he might have been the one to kill me but after talking he was apparently trying to stop me from killing myself."
no subject
More than that, really, but that's the first word that comes to mind.
no subject
"It's just strange to think someone else around here might share the same memories. I guess I just don't feel too comfortable with the idea quite yet. They haven't been the best of memories."

He closes his eyes and just holds onto that drink, "I could feel this..power. And it felt like it wanted to consume me. So instead I think I chose the only option I thought I had."
no subject
"Did you move on and do better after that?" he asks. "Or do you even know the answer to that?"
no subject

That's how 'ghosts' work in York's world.
no subject
With a shrug, "Eventually the mystery will be solved. Just need to get the right memories to do it."
no subject
He gives Xian a squeeze around the shoulders and then releases the arm crossed across his front so he can take a drink.
"I don't suppose you've gotten much sleep since you've been here."
no subject
"A few more drinks and I'll be able to sleep like a baby though."
no subject
York rubs his hand where it rests on Xian's lower back.
"I think we'll both break records for sleeping like the dead after what's gone on this week."
His drink is already making him drowsy.
