House Hunt
Who: Jecht and Yotsuyu
What: Jecht needs help. Yotsuyu foolishly gave him her card.
When: Monday, 9/14
Where: Yotsuyu's office, primarily
Warnings: None
Well, crap.
Everything had sure gone to hell, hadn't it? Somehow he was getting away with everything, no sign of that whole Big Deal hanging over his head except stuff occasionally becoming a frosty treat and nobody noticing... but damned if he wasn't feeling twitchy and stressed from worrying about this whole mess.
It'd spoiled his plans, too. By now he should've at least had someplace to stay here in the city. Racking up nights in the hotel suite wasn't gonna break him, but it sure wasn't good sense to do for too long. But at the moment, just the thought of going into some realtor's office made him feel sick, but he didn't want to get someone else to do it and end up with a place he didn't like...
Hey, wait a sec.
Jecht went for his wallet, flipping it open to pull out the card that woman had given him back at the Weirdass Anonymous meeting. If nothing else, he wouldn't have to worry about something slipping around someone who already knew what the deal was.
Breathing a sigh of relief, Jecht pulled his phone out to dial.

"Galvus Enterprises, this is Yotsuyu speaking. How may I help you today?"
There was some interest in her voice, though feigned or not, it might be difficult to say. Another day, another dollar--that emotion definitely came through in her tone.

"Hey, uh. This is Jecht. From the other day. You know." Had she even GOTTEN his name then? He couldn't remember...
"Gave me your card?"
no subject
"Mr. Zankander! Are you perhaps inquiring about your dry cleaning, or is there another reason for your call?" Yes, there was a bit of brightening in Yotsuyu's voice--he'd been amusing and good-natured, after all, even in the face of her sourness.

"Any specific boroughs you have an affinity for? How do you feel about Brooklyn, for example? It isn't terribly difficult to get to anywhere you need to, especially the airports." Since Yotsuyu knew that was likely a deciding factor.

He could hear her typing, and she hummed slightly under her breath as she worked.
"A place in Bay Terrace, as well. At least to start. Queens has easy access to both airports, which I daresay a fellow like you would need. Not that you could not get there from further boroughs, but this seems a good start. Now. When would you like to meet?"

Man, she worked quick. He was pretty impressed. Not that she hadn't given him that sort of impression, but seeing it backed up when he'd just dropped this on her? Nice.
no subject
"Very well, I shall. I take it I should be using this number to send information to?" She'd given him her card, but that didn't give Yotsuyu the ability to read any minds--though it was likely she could have tracked Jecht down in some fashion.

Totally smooth!

Then again, it wasn't as if her own employer did not cheerfully wine and dine people to disarm them. Yotsuyu supposed that she could argue over the check later. She knew Elliott could fend for himself, so it wouldn't really hurt...
"Oh, very well, twist my arm, why don't you? Do you have any ideas as to where to go?" Yotsuyu figured that she could find a place nearby, if he hadn't a clue.

Eating well was definitely one of his strengths.
no subject
"Ha! Well, if you are worried that I might have difficulty, I assure you, I can find something edible on any menu. So I shall see you in Bay Terrace in, say, twenty minutes or so? If traffic foils my plans, I shall let you know."
It wasn't as if he wouldn't get her number out of this, anyway.

"Great! On my way!"

She glanced over the house with a critical eye. Of course the man would probably have a landscaping service called in, if he chose this house, but it wouldn't hurt to see about suggesting a good one, if so...
no subject
"Yo!" He stuck his hand up as he approached, to get her attention.
no subject
"Yotsuyu, please. Or Ms. Naeuri, but not...that." She looked pained for a moment.
"So, care to look around the outside before I show you the inside?"
Yotsuyu at least tried to be the consummate professional, even in the face of his being ultra-casual.
no subject
"I mean, 'yo, it's me, Yotsuyu!"
He straightened up from his slight lean then, getting ahold of himself outside of a grin. "Sure, let's take a look."
no subject
"You might get to know your neighbors--we hired someone to keep a watch over it in warmer weather--it is heated, but once the weather got colder, we decided not to heat the water. This is supposed to be private property, after all. But apparently the neighborhood children enjoyed it while it lasted."
Best to give him a heads up, after all. Especially if he was the sort who did not actually like children. Yotsuyu had no way to tell these things!

There was something to be said for pleasing a client. In any case, she took out her tablet, brows furrowing, and made a few swipes over the surface with delicate fingers.
"It changes our itinerary a bit, but I've added a pool to all of your future real estate prospects." Yotsuyu supposed she should have expected this, since he was some sort of athlete. Needed a pool for exercise. It made sense to her.

She folded her arms over her chest and smirked a little. "And then I get to advertise such things."
Nevermind that Yotsuyu usually left the actual advertisements to underlings at the office...

Really, it was a fairly nice house; upscale, granite in the kitchen, classy, but nothing too expensive or ostentatious.
"You'll need to supply your own furnishings here, bed, couches, so forth, but if you've nothing ready, I can always arrange some help."
Some of this was actually her business, after all, even if there was more beneath the surface.

"There is that, but some of the sports stars of your ilk like penthouses on the island or something more sprawling in the suburbs. Or they buy land and build their own, but that last seems a bit too involved for you. Unless you decided to retire, which, you don't seem interested in, as of yet."
But she chuckled again as she strolled through, showing him the house. "You do know this wasn't the only one I had to show you today, correct?"
