Hey, wanna hit the beach?
The invitation wasn't meant to be too pushy, so Clarence didn't try to sound like he was begging but dangit, did he want to see his friend. Badly.
New memories that weren't pleasant seemed to be the rage for all the Different now that the rush to play around in K-Boz had slowed and with it also came summer heat. Which meant it was a great time to hit the beach and hang out and just... chill. He even was willing to splurge the 20 bucks for a nice umbrella to rest under. With a backpack full of water bottles and snacks, Clarence wanted to make today just... bearable, if Elliott was still in a bad way. He wasn't doing all that great either, but he could put on a good front anyway.
He was literally sighing with relief when he got the Okay, I guess response from Elliott. Better than nothing.
Dressed in a Kitten Lady tank top, a black, knee-long skirt, and white and black leggings, Clarence was trying something new. His usual converse he didn't change out, sand be danged. The skirt was surprisingly breezy and cool despite being all black. Sitting on one of the big beach towels he brought, he sat down to sketch and hoped that Elliott would show up like he said he would. If he didn't... Well.
Well, he would forgive it. But he hoped that wasn't going to be the case. Still, he kept looking up from his sketchpad, barely managing to make a mark on it while he grew more and more anxious waiting.

"Wow. So you can do almost anything? That's amazing. My powers are definitely limited to doing a specific thing."
Elliott shifted around and brought one knee to his chest. He leaned against it and smiled down at Clarence.
"I'm glad you've learned how to use it in good ways."

He really needed to sketch Elliott again soon.
"I mean, sure, it sounds good. But I wasn't exactly a paragon of gentleness in my memory, either." He grimaced. "I definitely shot lightning at two other teens. And... I, uh... unhinged my jaw and breathed fire at a... green, flying girl?"
He scrunched his eyes shut with a sigh. "... My other self's life was so weird."

"Well... we aren't those people. We can only try to be better than they were. I think that's all we can do."
His teeth pulled at his lip, fingers fidgeting with his water.
"So," he breathed and met Clarence's eyes again. "This is pretty dumb, but now I kind of want to fight you sometime."

The mention of a fight absolutely shattered whatever cool Clarence had and he immediately tensed up, eyes widening as he gazed up at Elliott in disbelief. "Are you freaking serious right now? Don't... don't say that!"

"Sorry, I didn't mean- not like where we're really trying to hurt each other, just like- what's it called- a spar I guess? There's just a feeling like I want to... I don't know, test my magic against yours? I'd almost for sure lose, but I feel like I'd learn a lot. Anyway, I know it's dumb. We don't ever have to do that."
