♫And I drive myself crazy thinking everything's about me♫

Who: Elliott, Clarence, Yotsuyu (in time) and perhaps more TBD
What: Elliott has a memory and now everything is falling apart
When: Monday Afternoon/Evening
Where: The Naeuri's
Rating/Warnings: PG-13 at most? for Angst, Suffering, possibly even swearing (gasp!) on Clarence's part. Also, SPOILERS will be indicated in threads as they appear

Yotsuyu had told him not to panic but those words usually accompanied something pretty severe. Elliott was having a hard time. Elliott needed a friend. He needed Clarence. And that was enough for him to ask Kris to borrow her bike again. She gave her blessing with a concerned look, but she didn't question it and that was for the best because Clarence was off as soon as he could.

It wasn't until he was knocking on the door that he took a moment to check his phone, only to find a text from Elliott saying to not bother heading over. That... didn't seem normal, but it was too late now. Yotsuyu let him in with a soft work of welcome and gave him a gentle squeeze to his arm before indicating that he should head to Elliott's room.

Biting his lip, unsure, Clarence found himself at Elliott's door. He knocked, not wanting to intrude if he really wasn't wanted but... Heavens above, he wanted Elliott to be okay.

The shocked expression on her face might almost be comical, were her ire not provoked with what Elliott was saying. Black brows flew up, and she scowled at him--not that her anger was directed at him, at least.

"The Luminary? And where was your so-called protector and guardian? That purple-haired knight?" Her nose wrinkled and her chin set. It had been only a fleeting memory that had had her calling that knight's name, and why? "Hendrik??"

Dying! If she ever came across him again, she'd have his guts for guitar strings! Allowing Elliott to be harmed in that fashion!!

Elliott blinked.

"Hendrik?" That wasn't a name he expected to hear, voice tinged with disbelief to match. "Hendrik's not my- he's been trying to hunt me down."

He frowned, arms folding. "..When did I tell you that?"

Yotsuyu scowled again, taken aback. "You...you did not tell me. I do not think you told me? But I remember...somewhere. We--Hendrik and I--were at a bazaar, sort of like the one through the portal. He was telling me he was looking for...someone, the Luminary. But at the time, I did not know who that was."

She clung to the door jamb a moment, pressing her forehead against it and closing her eyes. This...was the last thing she needed right now.

"It could have just been a dream."

She knew Hendrik? That would mean-

Elliott blinked, realization shattering through him- fleeting sense of wonder and elation followed swiftly again by the immovable stone pitted through his stomach.

"I didn't know you were- I mean I guess it makes sense, but you weren't my mom in that world. And Hendrik told you he was my protector? He never struck me as the type to lie about that, but I guess if Heliodor was getting desperate..."

Yotsuyu nodded quietly, furrowing her brow a bit. "I am not certain where we were. The bazaar--there was a parade for...for..." A game. A popular sort of game. "Bala-inlota? Does that sound familiar at all?"

But then, she nodded. "Yes, he seemed quite certain about that. I definitely was not aware of who you were at that point in time, I believe. I feel as if I'd met you later...there." Though she frowned again in confusion. "And no, I was not your mother there, that is certain."

Though for some reason, that knowledge tore at her heart.
