2020 June Summer Solstice Plot - Catch All!

What: Exploring a whole knew world

The streets of Krajina Božstiev are dusty and crowded. So many people on their way to live their lives. Markets, taverns, the Temple, the Palace. What do you look at first? What do you buy? Where to do you find yourself exploring?

Take a moment to appreciate the shine of the Temple. The beauty of the Palace gardens. The quiet serenity of the Library. The simplistic, but filling food in the taverns. Or the peaceful quaintness of the hills. A new world has opened up and somehow it all just seems simpler over here. People seem happy (mostly) in this existence.

Maybe...

Watch out for the occasional person going into a rage on the other side of the street or tavern. That can't mean anything...

It's warm on the palace grounds, so he takes a break to rest, drinking his water, and puts his camera away.

"You're probably right. The portals aren't an everyday thing, that's for sure. I was wary at first, but it turns out it works. I'm not sure if we're on the same planet or different alien world even though the people here looks like us. Do You have the stones too? I can show you mine. I got different stones that I collected from the eggs too."

He digs out and shows him the stones he collects on the palm of his hand. "I identified a few. My favorite one is the snowflake obsidian, a black stone. Rose quartz is second."

"I don't know how many different kinds there are, but i have seven different ones now." He has started to carry a small backpack with him to keep them in. Originally he just kept hem in his pockets but when he started to get so many it didn't work out to keep holding onto them like that.

He takes the bag off his shoulder and opens up the front zipper to reveal all the different ones inside. "I got a couple duplicate ones so I must almost have all of them. I like the snowflake one too and the amethyst."

he wishes there was a red one though..the pink it nice but it needs to be deeper.

He peers over to see how many he has collected, which is quite a lot of stones already. Lan Wangji has a red stone, or close to red, it's agate, a stone of happiness.

"Do you have any idea about how the stones are connected? I think they're magical and it's connected to the deities and priest of this place. I haven't spoken to the priests, however. I lost my chance when I spend my time in the market and among the people to learn their culture."

Wei Wuxian shrugs and sets his bag back down. He doesn't really have any interest in the actual reasoning behind the place. At first he had found it interesting to try and gain some knowledge, but when people were so unwilling to tell him anything he gave up and just focused on the stones. He isn't one to try and go to a library or a temple for fun.

"I'm more interested in enjoying the place versus finding out more about it. What's the point in learning anything when it might just disappear tomorrow? Seems a shame to spend all that time especially if all of this is just some..figment of our collected imagination."

It's possible that considering the only ones who see it are the Different, that this is just some big hallucination that the suits over them have figured out how to create. He figures that might be more farfetched then a portal to another world but he can't help but consider it.

Lan Wangji's interests are more scholarly at most. But then he's used to studying research, writing essays and paper basing on clinical analysis, and even give presentations.

He considers it too. As far he can tell, this gentleman sitting beside him is laid-back and doesn't think much about the bigger details.

Pushing his glasses up, getting philosophical, "I think this place is very real. But existing on another plane of existence. I think it's worth studying because who knows? I think all the data I collected, it can be useful for learning later. I mean, everything in this Universe is connected, and this place is maybe one of the several keys to a bigger mystery."

"It might not do any good to document it. It's possible that once they figure out how, the Bureau will just erase our memories of it and make it seem like it never happened. I don't trust that those guys don't have some shifty magic up their sleeves."

Wei Wuxian would have enjoyed just coming to the world and relaxing but he has a feeling it's deeper then that. They are there for a reason. And he hates to think that this might be some sort of test for them.

On the other hand, he's more curious and wanted to learn everything. He even though of asking what is the world is like if one takes a vehicle to explore outside of the city, but then he's afraid of getting lost and won't be able to return back home.

At that, he is surprised to learn of this answer. "Really? The Bureau can erase memories? How did you know?"

"Honestly I don't know..I'm just guessing that they might be able to. But who knows. Maybe they are are powerless and just trying to harness whatever abilities we gain from our previous lives. Whatever it is..they are up to no good."

If they would just give some actual answers for once maybe he could learn to trust them.

"Oh. I see. You're guessing. Well, I don't know either. But we did talk about past lives in the support group. I'm a professor or going to be a teacher soon, so maybe this past life is a theory. It could have been a vivid imagination."

At the mention of past lives, he took a good closer look at him for the first time. While it's just one memory, a brief vision, his face does look familiar like the man in his dream...but it could be imagination. So not thinking about it.

"Anyway, now that you mention it. I'll keep on the lookout...especially them."

"Trust no one and all that. Well..I feel like we can all trust each other. So just don't trust the bureau."

He finishes off the water and taps the bottle against his knee.

"I wonder if this is just the beginning. If there will be any other worlds opening up...or if this world is based on someone's memories."

"Mn." With a nod, he packs his stones and drinks his water slowly.

"Someone else memories...? This place looks too complex to be a dream or be someone else memories. More research is required. Perhaps there are other worlds, I believe that to be so."

"I mean..maybe there is a different out there that used to live in this place before they were reborn. Which could mean that any of our previous lives could be opened up at some point."

Not that he wants to see the world in his memories. IT looks like nothing but death and fighting so far.

He drinks his water, and he thought about it, connecting the dots and theories. His friend's theory is an interesting one. "Could it be a portal opens because there's a Different in our world and this is their past life world?"

Closing his eyes, remembering the dream. "Maybe someday a portal will open to one of my past lives. In my dream, I think it was ancient China. Which is funny, because currently, that's where me and my family is from."

He doesn't want to be rude and assumed the other came from the same heritage.

"Really? Mine seem to be that way too..but I haven't really figured it out yet. I haven't seen enough of it to piece together a time or a location. But there was some Chinese spoken." He laughs a little wryly, "And I'm going to have to admit..I don't know much of the language."

Born and raised in the USA for him. His knowledge of China is limited to the textbooks and the news. And no parents to draw any kind of information from.

At that, he wondered if their dreams come from the same time and place or even the same era. Then what are the odds in that?

"I don't remember much of mine. It's only a short vision. I don't know if I'll have the same one again. But I figure out in mine, it was Mandarin."

After resting long enough, "Anyway, I'm going to explore more of the gardens and take pictures. If you want to come along, you could."

"They seem to be different every time. Not that I have any experience. Compared to others I"m a newbie."

He pushes himself up, looking at the watch on his wrist. "I need to head back home. Tonight's a work night. Need to have enough time to get back and get ready."

"Mn. Same here." So far, Lan Wangji experienced one memory, so he can't give an opinion of his past life yet.

At his announcement, it's time to part. "All right. Stay safe. I'll see you around." Until next time.
