Not to mention, he couldn't be sure how much longer he'd be welcome to attend- much less host- further gatherings once his new position became common knowledge. He hoped it wouldn't be as bad as all that, but given those he'd spoken with so far tonight, it was the lack of the Bureau's presence that everyone seemed to appreciate most.
