His cousin looked more haunted that usual, his eyes more sunken and dim. It terrified Anthony to the core of his very being.

The cell phone had never been far from his hand but he now used it to dial 911 instead of texting updates. On a train heading for station... yeah, that's right. Heart condition. No he hasn't been taking his medication correctly. He's been on a bender. All that might have sounded like a blur to Alec. He might not even have noticed when his cousin joined him on the floor just to hold his shoulders and try to ensure he kept breathing. Maybe he wouldn't know much of anything at all until the paramedics arrived and the oxygen mask was secured over his airways.
