That was a heavy memory, more in line with Alec's retrieving a dead girl from the water than his obviously religious inspired one. Very grim too.

Vikings came to mind next but it could have been any sort of people really. Raids like that happened all over the world and the purple robes hinted that this group must have been well-to-do. In the past purple was a very expensive color.
