Clarence had his own reasons to be rebellious. He just hadn't planned on having a the truth forced out of his mouth in front of his guardians so casually. What had been an accidental slip of the tongue had led to a full-blown argument and Clarence, while he tried to be cool, couldn't really handle people yelling at him, even if it was justified.
