Alec cam be found anywhere, looking more cagey than usual. Find him in his office filling out endless forms or answering calls curtly, or in a bistro or cafe with a single cup of steaming tea, or even in the park bundled up against the cold day.

More to the point he has a box of Valentine's Day candies with him that he cannot seem to stop eating. It seems almost unconscious. However this meeting turns out is going to be an interesting ride.

"You know exactly what you did." He gives Wuxian a level look, flexing his fingers absently. And then nods. He agrees. Although... at the same time...

"Let's just hope some things stay..." Like Fell and Anthony. They were so happy together...

"I can't help but think-- what if this is real? What if there are-- What does it mean? Do you ever wonder that? Which you is the real one."

He tilts his head with a playful expression, "I fulfilled the wishes of the candy. Or are you upset because you really want to keep holding my hand?"

Perhaps the choice could be there...to remember or not remember depending on how one's life changed because of the memories.

"I have powers so it makes me a pretty big believer that this is real. Just because he existed and lived his life, doesn't mean I can't learn from his mistakes with those powers and live my own. I don't intend to let his life change who I am."

"No? You say that as though you don't miss it terribly." He sets his tea down on the table, but isn't so brash as to help himself to a chair just yet.

He considers giving him the standard 'just fine' sort of answer, but ... he draws in a slow breath and puts a hand to his sternum, wincing slightly. "Got a rather unpleasant, er, reminder of something the other day."

"I wasn't any good at it." They were better off without him, really. He frowned as the doctor winced, putting a hand to his stomach, and wondered whether it was a bad memory or something he'd forgot he was allergic to. He was willing to be the former.

"Me too." He sighed and folded his arms on the table. "Want to talk about it?"

"No and no one asked you to. You're too young for me." If he was hitting on him to begin with. It was hard to tell with him. He tried to ignore how red his ears were and dragged them back to the conversation at hand.

"So you're saying the mistakes of that life stay there?" He regards him. "You...no longer feel you have to make up for them?"

He laughs and shakes his head. "Too young to hold hands? It's not like I'm ravishing you in the middle of the cafe." He did kiss him in the middle of a busy street though so it's not like Wei Wuxian is a shy man.

"Why should I make up for his mistakes? What is in the past is in the past. It's not like any of those people he dealt with are here now. I'm not going to waste this life making up for something I didn't personally do."

He snorts. "If anything it'd be--" The opposite, he was going to say, but he isn't going to get dragged into that conversation.

"Forget it. What if someone from that past turns up here? Someone...from that past has for me, and my cousin. It's possible. What if you wronged someone and they appeared." He tries not to think about what happens if Beth shows up, or Tess, or any of the Gillespes... God...

[he licks the back of his hand once before realizing]

Ugh.

Ugh.

I've no bloody idea! I need another one. Maybe something else will counteract it. [he fumbles the box out of his pocket and ends up scattering all but one on the floor. He looks at the remaining one and scowls]

You might have to hang up. [because he refuses]

He leans on the table with a grin because that thing that was left unsaid was interesting and he doesn't have to have much of an imagination to figure out what it was.

"Oh? Do you want to ravish me in the middle of the cafe? I didn't know you were so bold."

He tap his finger on the to of the table, "Someone already did. I didn't know him at the time and he is already gone now. I don't know if I wronged him but if I did, it's not really me who did it. Just because I'm sharing someone's memories does not mean i have to have the same relationships."

"No." Fairly growled and his face is beet red. "I don't even want to talk about it."

He ducked his head down a bit, looking anywhere but the kid. He wished he could do that too. He wished he could just let it go, but it didn't feel right.

"Fair enough." But he couldn't let go of his even if he tried. "Anyway-- stay out of trouble. I'll get that." He nodded at the tea.

He looks down at the tea and then back up at him, "I appreciate the drink so I won't tease you anymore." Even though he has the best reactions to it.

"If I promise that I won't say anything else about ravishing, will you not run away? I'll even turn away until your face resumes it's normal color."

He can't help the grin on his lips though as he says it. He won't push the man to stay if he has to go but he can't help but want to talk with him more.

"You're not making your case." Cheeky bastard. Alec can't quite deny him though since he's got nothing else better to do. "Fine, but walk with me. I need to stretch my legs and I've got some library books to return."

And hopefully out and about he'd be less inclined to be tempted by another candy. He didn't understand his taste for them but bitter cold should be enough to take it out of his mouth right?

He laughs softly. He might not have made his case but apparently he still won since Alec isn't just going to run away. "I'll even keep my hands in my pockets so that I don't try to grab your hand."

He pushes himself up out of his seat and immediately puts his hands in his pocket as if to prove that he is being sincere.

"If you keep going like that you can walk by yourself." He pays for their teas and then grabs his messenger bag before heading out, hands stuffed in his own pockets just in case.

"Don't you have better things to do than follow around an old man? Are you that bored?" He didn't actually consider himself that old, despite how old he felt some days. But he definitely was compared to this kid.

He falls into step beside him, shivering a little once outside in the crisper air. He hates winter. "I am that bored. I have selected you to be my entertainment for the day. You should feel honored." Honestly with York gone, he has been feeling a little more lonely then he cares to admit. And staying inside his apartment alone all day doesn't appeal to him.

"Am I not allowed to enjoy the company of an old man?"

He wondered why, then, Alec had decided to teach at all, but decided it was a question to come back to. "You, too?"

At Alec's invitation, he does pull out a chair and settles in. There's no lid on his tea since he got it for here, and he watches it steam for a moment to spare Alec the awkwardness of staring at him while he gathers his thoughts and tries to figure out a way to say it...

"Remember when I told you I have a son? In these other memories?"

It sounded worse when he said it, but also cast things in a certain light he was more comfortable with. Now he more understood and inwardly berated himself for not understanding earlier.

"It's not going to be very interesting." He gave the boy a look. "Unless you like ice skating and then maybe I can show you a thing or two." It probably wasn't the best idea to do something so strenuous in his condition but he was really only delaying the inevitable at this point and maybe it would take his mind off the bloody candy.

Wei Wuxian laughs because ice skating is still terribly new to him. Somehow people must enjoy seeing him awkwardly try to balance on thin pieces of metal. "I won't say that I like it, but I have been learning. I know how to move forward and not fall down."

That really is an accomplishment considering how things started. Of course he can still count how many times he has been on skates on one hand. He really has the frozen world they were able to go to to thank for even bothering with such a thing.

"Yep." However vaguely. "Something happen?" He hopes not but he wonders if something had, feeling a twinge of dread. A terrible life is bad enough, but it's even worse when children are hurt.

I'm not telling you. Piss off. [he doesn't want to eat it and tries to fight the compulsion, even as he glares at the bloody thing.]

"After that it's easy. You just have to keep not falling down." He shrugged, trying not to look as suddenly awkward as he felt. "We can. If you want."

He tilts his head and watches him in amusement, "What happened to a boring old guy that just had to drop off some library books?" Wei Wuxian had been content with that but now at the prospect of ice skating his interests have shifted.
