Welcome to a new universe, everyone.

Please use this as a Catch All Log Event post for all your winter adventuring needs. You may use the link above to remember all the various things you can do in this new space. But below, we've listed a summary

1. Visit the Ice Palace

• The Ice Palace has gardens with ice and snow sculptures
• There is also the ice maze to have fun in.
• The Ballroom
• Fine dining

2. The outdoor ice rink

Spend a day skating the whole way around, there are skate rentals and food all the way around the rink.

3. Visit the Ski Lodge

• For skiing and snowshoeing
• Rent a room for a night or week, or whatever
• There's the dining room for a good warm meal
• The saunas
• The hotsprings

4. Explore the Mountains and Forests

• Go for a walk
• Take note of the unique plants (get high?)
• Take a picture of the unique animals
• Run into a wild Energy Burst

5. Visit the town

• Go shopping!
• Go for a sleigh ride
• Remember, there's a big trolley pulled by a team of reindeer that is essentially a bar on wheels
• Visit the reindeer stables
• Run into/capture some mischievous Energy Bursts

6. Generally marvel at the magic in this place

He flashes a grin. "But would we have made it to the beach if you hadn't been busy with your brother?" Temporary derail when he was reminded. "How is your family?"

Martin chuckled as he started to carve up his steak. "Oh, since around the summer. ... I haven't been back to that place, yet, you know. The one where you could trade water for anything. That was ... certainly one hell of a welcome to the ranks."

The giggles were a wonderful sound, and Martin laughed along while she joked with him. "I can definitely agree with that. I've got a few patients causing me no small amount of stress, myself." Never mind that one of them was among the Different, himself, and continuing to be as stubborn as ever.

"So what does relaxing look like for you, hm? Other than perusing the shops?"

"Maybe not. But then I'd just have to take you to the beach another day," Bail said. It was strange to think that summer had sped by so fast.

"My family is doing well. Why... Do you want to meet them?"

Anakin snorted. "The most of us haven't been around that much longer than you have. You might want to just carry it around like a first-aid kit wherever you go now. Just because," Anakin pointed all around them with his spoon. "Maybe not other universes, but weird shit happens a lot."

"Bold of you to assume I have one." He stretches, arm absently on the back of the sofa.

"Blue slang?" he'd never heard of that. "It's like this seed or something covered with little spikes and it sticks to you and gets under your clothes and can be painful if you rest against it." He wasn't sure how else to explain it.

"Then I'm glad you're getting a chance to take a break too," Lisa agreed with a larger smile. "Nothing is exploding and everything is fine, yeah?" And she'd take as much of that as she could get!

"Well... some of that, I want to take a look through the backcountry a little, I'm going to be a hot spring junkie because other-me's memories suggest it'll be amazing..." She was counting on her fingers - perhaps a little exaggeratedly, but that's part of the fun - as she went.

He stops moving pretty quickly and even more forward a bit. Palms up, and intending to have the other man grip onto his forearms or wrists for balance. He's not big but he is very stable.

"Great!" he grins. "No need to dance on ice but it means you know where your center of gravity is, right?"

"That must be really hard. I don't know where my scars came from, exactly, or remember it and it irritates me, but it sounds like all your memories are shaped around some event or action you don't know anything about, yet." He hesitates for a moment, but just one. "Do you have a wife and kids now? Or have anyone you know here who shows up in your memories?"

He waits a bit past the okay, watching Anakin with concern and a little uncertainty, but then it becomes clear Anakin isn't going to continue and he isn't sure if he should ask and -

"Do you wanna talk now or do something else together now?"

"You can still take me to the beach, you know, though I think I'd rather wait for warmer weather." That's a bit teasing, and he goes a bit still at the rest of the question. "All of them?!" No. No he does not.

"I definitely do." He tries to focus on that as he takes a hold of the man's arms. He does slowly stand up straighter with a grin.

"Alright, teach. I'm ready to not fall down."

Emberto pressed a hand to his chest in mock shock. "Perish the thought, darling," he said. "This is a much higher class of tourist trap. They have standards, you know." He gave her a wink and a grin. There was no denying that the place they'd found themselves in was extremely touristy, but it clearly catered to a somewhat classier clientele than some.

"Want to go inside for a bit? Just long enough to take a look around and maybe get warm."

"Maybe the next universe that opens up to us will be a tropical paradise?" Bail mused. He would not be opposed to that.

But when Ben objected with that question...

"Not all at once," Bail quickly added. Ben maybe be a peacock, but Bail had long since realized that he liked being a peacock from a distance.

"We can talk now," Anakin said. "Unless you want to do something else right now?"

"Standards, you say," Lisa drawled with a certain amount of (manufactured) disbelief. "What are those, exactly? Are they some new health food? I don't think I've heard of them." But she couldn't hide her grin.

"Sure, though, I'd be up for poking our heads in. Maybe they'll have something exciting!" She didn't comment on warming up; she kind of took it as a given, not that she was complaining. She still wasn't quite used to New York winters, let alone exotic foreign ski resort winters.

"Been a bachelor all my life." He gives a sadly amused laugh as he opens the door to the sauna, disappearing in a cloud of steam. Martin can't help but think it's appropriate in some way: his actual self being lost in a fog as he's talking of these strange memories and unknowns.

"And I haven't had any familiar faces show up among the Different save for, well, my own, which is odd enough as it is. Have you met Mr. Fell? The resemblance is absolutely uncanny."

"Hot spring," he said with relish. "I have to admit, there really is something about going someplace oppressively warm in the middle of all this freezing cold. I had a stint in the hotel sauna yesterday - whew." He widened his eyes in exaggerated glee. "Thoroughly envigorating. As for the backcountry, if you're feeling particularly adventurous, I did see that they're renting cross-country skis and snowshoes..."

"No, no," he said, waving a hand in reference to the cellar comment. "It's one of those meme things. Salt, as in - never mind. I'm probably way too old to be using it anyway, if I picked it up listening to the receptionist."

He gives an amused little snort and rolls his eyes. "Spiky, that I can see. But if you're saying I'm stuck with you, now... that means you're staying for dinner while you rest that ankle."

"You've got a very fine point, my boy," he admitted, pausing for a moment to enjoy a bite of his dinner. As soon as he'd swallowed, he continued: "Maybe I should look into converting it to a backpack, or one of those messenger bags... Something a little more portable."

He cast his gaze out the window toward the slopes, where the lights were beginning to come on for the night skiiers: energy globes flaring to life. "In some circumstances, it's best to have my hands free."

"Practice makes perfect." She turned her smile on him in full before starting down the maze. "Let's start on the right, yeah? Off on the right foot and all that."

Ellie glanced up at the trees above and the fluffy clouds drifting across the sky. It looked like snow, but then again, she was beginning to realize that every day in this place looked like snow.

"So you're from one of the more extraordinary places, then. So's my cousin. He can do all sorts of things, but ... I think it scares him a little more than he lets on. Did it scare you?"

"Thanks, luv." It's six of one, half a dozen of the other if she's red-faced from cold or slight embarrassment, but she drops her robe with a squeal of protest at the cold before sliding into the water.

"Ooo! Well, that's sure a one-eighty, now isn't it?" Her eyes are wide with the shock of adjusting to the extreme change of temperature, but she's grinning, even so: determined to enjoy herself despite the obvious age gap between them and the new situation. Only once she's settled into the water does she realize Lisa might not recognize her.

"Ellie," she reminds her, reaching out a dripping hand. "From the Network?"

"Ugh memes. Who can understand it. Who can keep up with it? It's bad enough that I have to sit through a harassment seminar because some idiots can't be respectful, but we have to watch this video that tells us to take care using emoji's because: 'Remember, sometimes an eggplant is not just an eggplant.'" He throws his hands up. "It's a bloody minefield."

He glances at Whitley and shrugs.

"I've had worse dinner guests..." A calculated pause. "And dinners."

He marked the patch as they turned down the chosen turn. "It scares me a lot." And he's not afraid to admit it. He had never really believed anything of this kind of thing was possible and now he was living it.

"The things I've seen in my memories are terrifying. The things that person is capable of and what he did are slowly bleeding into my life and I'm not really sure what to do about it."

"I can only imagine," she said softly, making sure she sounded as earnest and supportive as she felt. Ellie had always had a gift for being an ear, and she felt that if she had to stay in New York among the Different, maybe it was because that ear might be needed.

"These ... bleedy things. Are they things you're afraid could hurt people? If they are, and you need someone you can talk to if it gets bad ... I - well, I used to be police in my memories. I might be able to help."
