An afternoon at the theater

Who: Emberto, Elliott, and some NPC members of Emberto's theater troop
When: Backdated to August 12th, afternoon
Where: The Brava theater on the West Side
What: Emberto gives Elliot a tour and maybe some sword practice happens
Warnings: Probably none

Using directions Emberto provided- or even just a quick search on Google maps or Mapquest- it wouldn't be too difficult for Elliot to find the Brava. The outer facade was a relatively unassuming brick building, aside from the bright marquee. As there were no shows currently playing or immediately scheduled, it advertised the fact that the theater space was available for rent and invited those interested to inquire within or call a certain phone number. It also showed the open hours for the Descanso lounge (4 PM-Midnight, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as well as before, after, and during select shows).

Once inside, though, all plainness vanished. The interior of the lobby was paneled in dark wood, lit by small spotlights, and much of the tile floor was covered by a patterned carpet, which gave the space an air of opulence and elegance that recalled the heyday of New York theater. The walls were hung with show posters- some from well known Broadway productions, and some from smaller, lesser known shows- as well as framed photos of various actors, some autographed. A stairway to the right- currently roped off- led downward to what a sign indicated was the Descanso lounge, while to the left were two doors. One obviously led to an elevator- decorated with brass fittings so it didn't look out of place with the rest of the decor-, and on of similar dark wood to the paneling with a small sign indicating that it was for staff only. Centrally located along the back wall was a dark wood counter that served as both a concession counter and reception desk, with a curtained off door next to it leading back into the theater proper.

The only person visible upon entering was a young, brown skinned woman with her long hair pulled back in a ponytail and an English Literature textbook in front of her. She looked up and smiled as Elliott entered. "Hi," she said. "Can I help you?"
